Upgrade or Downgrade
You can change your plan at any time from the dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
How to Change Your Plan
- Go to your OpenClaw Dashboard.
- Navigate to Billing.
- Click Change Plan.
- Select the new plan you want.
- Confirm the change.
Upgrading
When you upgrade (e.g., Starter to Pro):
- The new plan takes effect immediately.
- Your instance is automatically updated with the new resource limits.
- You are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing cycle. For example, if you upgrade from Starter ($10) to Pro ($20) halfway through the month, you pay $5 for the remaining half of the month at the new rate.
- On your next billing date, you are charged the full new plan price.
tip
There is no downtime when upgrading. Your instance continues running while the resource limits are adjusted.
Downgrading
When you downgrade (e.g., Power to Starter):
- The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep your current plan's resources until then.
- On your next billing date, you are charged at the new (lower) rate.
- If your current disk usage exceeds the new plan's disk limit, you will need to reduce usage before the switch. You will receive a warning if this applies.
warning
If you are using a custom domain (Pro/Power feature) and downgrade to Starter, the custom domain will stop working at the end of the billing period. Your instance will still be accessible via the default subdomain.
Proration Details
OpenClaw Host uses Stripe for billing. Proration is calculated automatically:
- Upgrades: You receive credit for the unused portion of your current plan and are charged the prorated cost of the new plan.
- Downgrades: No immediate charge or refund. The new lower price applies at the next billing cycle.
You can see all proration details and invoices in Billing > Invoice History on your dashboard.
