Cancel Subscription

You can cancel your OpenClaw Host subscription at any time. Your instance continues running until the end of your current billing period.

How to Cancel

  1. Go to your OpenClaw Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Billing.
  3. Click Cancel Subscription.
  4. Confirm the cancellation.

After cancelling:

  • Your instance remains active until the end of your current billing period.
  • You will not be charged again.
  • The dashboard shows your subscription as "Cancelling" with the date it will end.

What Happens to Your Data

When your billing period ends after cancellation:

  1. Your instance is stopped. The gateway shuts down and all channel connections are closed. Your bot will no longer respond to messages.
  2. Your data is retained for 30 days. Your configuration, conversation history, and memory files are kept on our servers for 30 days after the subscription ends.
  3. After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted. This includes all configuration, channel credentials, conversation history, and stored files.
warning

After the 30-day retention period, data deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. If you think you might return, reactivate before the 30 days are up.

Reactivation

If you change your mind within the 30-day retention window:

  1. Log in to your OpenClaw Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Billing.
  3. Click Reactivate Subscription.
  4. Choose a plan and complete payment.

Your instance will be restarted with all your previous configuration and data intact. Channel connections will need to be re-established (tokens are preserved, but the connections themselves are not kept alive while stopped).

tip

Reactivation is instant. Once payment is processed, your instance starts within about a minute and your previous setup is fully restored.

Exporting Your Data

Before cancelling, you may want to save your configuration. You can do this via the CLI:

# Export your configuration
openclaw config get > my-config-backup.json

This gives you a copy of your agent configuration, model settings, and channel setup that you can use to restore later or set up a self-hosted instance.
